Annakoot Restaurant (first floor, South Wing, Vrindavan Chandrodaya Mandir)
North and South Indian thalis, dosa, Jain-friendly. Rated 4.7 from 90 reviews on Tripadvisor when checked
A giant temple under construction, planned as one of the tallest in the world. Visit to see the scale, not yet the finished shrine.

Chandrodaya means 'the rising of the moon'. The temple is a project of the Hare Krishna Movement (ISKCON Bangalore), and its idea is to give the whole world a temple that tells the story of Krishna in Vrindavan on an enormous scale. The planned tower is over 200 m tall, with floors dedicated to Braj's pastimes.
This is a living project, not a historic site. The story here is the one that every Vrindavan temple tells: the Bhagavatam's Rasa Lila (Srimad Bhagavatam 10.29 to 10.33), in which the full moon shines on Krishna's dance. The name Chandrodaya points straight to that autumn moon.
