Krishna lifted Govardhan on his little finger to shelter Braj from Indra's rain. Walking around the hill, the parikrama, is one of the oldest devotions in Braj.
The full round is about 21 km and most people take 5 to 6 hours on foot, many barefoot. We start at Daan Ghati, pass Manasi Ganga, Kusum Sarovar, Radha Kund and Shyam Kund, and come back round by Puchhri ka Lautha.
The cab shadows the route, so elders can ride a stretch and rejoin. Water, a little prasad and a guide who knows each kund come with you.
Best for: Devotees keeping a vow, and families who want the walk with a car close by.

Questions, answered
Do I have to walk barefoot?
Many do, as a vow. Others wear light footwear. Both are accepted, so do what is comfortable and kind to your feet.
Can elders do only a part?
Yes. The cab follows the route, so anyone can rest in it and walk on later.
