Holi in Braj begins days before the rest of India. At Barsana, Radha's village, the Shri Radha Rani temple showers laddoos and colour, and the next day the women of Barsana meet the men of Nandgaon with sticks and laughter in the Lathmar Holi.
The crowds are huge and joyous. We go as a small group with a local guide, a safe spot to watch from and a cab parked close by, and come back the next day for Nandgaon's turn.
Seasonal: Holi falls in Phalgun (February or March). Dates follow the panchang and are confirmed each year.
Best for: Holi lovers and photographers who prefer company to facing the crowd alone.

Questions, answered
When is the Barsana Holi tour?
It follows the panchang. The 2027 dates are listed on the calendar page and are confirmed locally before the departure.
Is it safe for women and children?
It is joyful but very crowded. A small group, a local guide and a fixed meeting point keep it manageable. Children and elders should stay at the edges.
