From Kuala Lumpur to the temple town of Krishna

About 5.5 to 6 hr flights2.5 hr ahead of IndiaPrices in MYR

Malaysia's Indian community has kept Krishna bhakti alive for generations, and many families dream of Vrindavan as a pilgrimage. The flight is short and direct. What most people need is the plan for what comes after landing.

Flying from Kuala Lumpur

Listings we found show direct KUL to DEL flights on Batik Air and AirAsia X, each at about 5 hours 35 to 50 minutes, with several flights a day reported on one aggregator. That data is from late 2024, so confirm what flies now. IndiGo appeared only with connections.

Visa and documents

Malaysia belongs to ASEAN, which appears on the e-Visa list of the reference page. Apply only at the official portal, keep your passport valid for six months, and print the approval. If your family has Indian roots, ask about OCI.

What Malaysians look for

About one in five Malaysian searches in our research were for stays, and package searches were modest and equally useful. The leading phrases are the same as elsewhere: Vrindavan, Banke Bihari, Prem Mandir, ISKCON. So we offer a simple package: the airport pickup, the room and one guided day.

A pilgrim's four days

  • Arrive in the evening, rest at Laladham.
  • Vrindavan day: temples at a measured pace, Prem Mandir lit at night.
  • Govardhan and Radha Kund, with the parikrama in a car for elders.
  • Mathura, Krishna Janmabhoomi, then Delhi.
Carry a light shawl. Winter mornings are cold, which surprises visitors from the tropics.

Food and comfort

Vrindavan is vegetarian. Tell us about allergies, and we make food mild. Drink filtered water and carry rehydration salts for the first days, since a tropical stomach still meets new bacteria.

Evening temple visits are the most comfortable in winter, when the lamps are lit and the air is cool. Keep each day light with two or three places and a long rest after lunch, since the real joy of Vrindavan is sitting quietly after darshan.

Money and the short list

Take a small amount of cash in rupees for temple offerings and tips, and keep the rest on a card. Bring photocopies of passport and approval, plus a power adapter. Keep a sensible list of two or three temples for each day, not more.

Before or after Braj

From Kuala Lumpur it is easy to extend. Delhi is the gateway, and Agra is a day trip. If your group is large, say how many travel, so we can choose between a sedan, a van and larger vehicles, and plan the rooms.

One WhatsApp for the group

Many Malaysian pilgrims travel in groups of friends or temple communities. Send the number of people, the dates and any food needs, and we plan rooms and vehicles. For larger groups see our group tours page.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Is there a direct flight from KL?

Reports show nonstop services from two budget-leaning carriers, but schedules shift. Check the airline site for your dates.

Do you speak Tamil or Malay?

Our guides speak Hindi and English. Tell us if your group needs any other support and we will try to arrange it.

Can I bring children?

Yes. Temples are child-friendly, with short walks. Avoid the midday hours in summer.

When should I come?

October to March. Avoid May and June if you cannot bear dry heat.

Can we book rooms for a group?

Yes. Share the group size and dates and we confirm what is available on WhatsApp.

What clothes are right for Vrindavan?

Modest and comfortable: shoulders and knees covered, and socks for the temple floors.
