The NH-19 run
Distance sites put Faridabad to Mathura at about 118 to 122 km by road, though some operator pages quote a higher figure that clearly includes detours. Leaving from Sector 15 or Ballabhgarh, you join NH-19 at Badarpur or the Faridabad bypass and run south past Palwal and Kosi.
Two stretches can slow you down: the toll plaza zone near Palwal and the Kosi approach, which is busy with trucks. Starting before seven keeps both light.
Train or cab
Faridabad station lies on the Delhi to Mumbai main line, so many Mumbai-bound and Chennai-bound trains stop here or at Ballabhgarh. A short ride south gets you to Mathura Junction. Ballabhgarh is easier for many services.
A cab remains the winner for a family. It picks you up near your gate, avoids the platform and wait, and drops you right at Laladham with luggage.
A day trip that works
- Start by half past six, reach Vrindavan before nine.
- Banke Bihari first, then Prem Mandir and Seva Kunj, lunch and a short rest.
- Mathura Janmasthan and Vishram Ghat after lunch, and home before ten at night.
When to stay the night
Stay one night if you want mangala aarti, or if you are travelling with elders and children who tire quickly. A second night opens up Govardhan and Barsana without the two-hour drive twice.
Because Faridabad is so near, many families make Braj a regular monthly trip. We keep a room at Laladham ready for returning guests and note your food preferences.
What Faridabad families look for
Large Punjabi, Haryanvi and Garhwali communities live here. Visits are often tied to birthdays, mundan, and anniversaries. We offer a guide who can arrange simple puja and a pandit at the right temple when you ask us in advance.
Ballabhgarh to Kosi: what the road looks like
South of Faridabad the highway widens and traffic thins. The Braj region begins gently, with mustard fields in winter and village markets near Kosi. Many guests say the drive is the first part of the darshan, because the landscape starts to feel unhurried.
If you stop for chai, choose a busy dhaba with a clean tap and a bench under shade, which is usually a good sign of fresh food.
A monthly habit
Several Faridabad families visit once a month on Ekadashi or Purnima. We keep notes about their rooms, meals and preferred temple order, so each visit gets easier than the last. A short monthly yatra costs less effort than a once-a-year big trip, and it keeps the heart close to Braj.
