The 'pure lake' where Krishna brought the cows to drink.
Pavan Sarovar is a large stepped tank outside Nandgaon. Tradition says Krishna would bring the cows here after grazing and that the tank was filled with the water of the heavenly rivers for the holy purpose. The lake appears in Braj parikrama texts as one of the 'kunds' of Nandgaon.
The pastimes of the cowherd boys with the herds are in Srimad Bhagavatam 10.15 and 10.18 (grazing, the demon Dhenuka, the forest fire), but this lake is not named in the text. Treat it as local tradition.
