Radha Bihari Misthan Bhandar (Banke Bihari temple market)
Mathura peda and khoya sweets. The shop's own claim is a sweet shop here since 1965
The place where Uddhava's philosophy dissolved into the gopis' love.
After Krishna left for Mathura, the gopis could think of nothing else. Krishna sent his learned friend Uddhava to console them with teaching about the formless Brahman. The gopis laughed gently, spoke to a passing bumblebee, and sang of their longing (the Bhramara Gita). Uddhava was overwhelmed. He saw that their love was greater than any knowledge, and he prayed to be a blade of grass in Vrindavan so that their feet might touch him (Srimad Bhagavatam 10.46 and 10.47).
Gyan Gudri means 'the quilt of knowledge'. In local tradition it is the spot where Uddhava laid down his pride of knowledge. The site identification is local and its exact place on the Vrindavan parikrama is to be checked on the ground.
